How my journey began
After completing my high school swim and water polo commitments, I started going to my University’s gym almost every day as a way to destress after a long day of class. I was recruited to the group fitness instructor apprenticeship in 2011 while studying Kinesiology at the University of Illinois Chicago and have been teaching fitness classes ever since. I started my own personal training company, RachGitsFit, completed my 200-hour yoga certification, and graduated with a Master’s in Sports Administration from Northwestern. Currently, I am studying to become an Integrative Health Coach through Duke Univeristy and am taking care of my newborn son. I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Yoga Instructor, and Pre/Post-Natal Corrective Exercise Specialist.
My passion is to help individuals realize their true health and potential. I love all things health and fitness. I am constantly learning and implementing new tools into my own life to optimize my health. I want to learn what makes you excited to get out of bed, what is important to you, and what action steps make sense for you to take to realize your goals. I believe everyone has the answers to their questions pertaining health, it sometimes just takes a coach to guide them along the journey.
For fun, I love to be outdoors, swimming, taking walks on the 606 bike path in downtown Chicago, and making healthy food for my family. I buy way too many supplements, and I use cloth diapers for my son because I am very concerned about the environment! I am passionate about health and have focused my career to bring it to as many people as possible.
